SpiceJet gains on exiting DGCA's enhanced surveillance regime
SpiceJet rose 2.03% to Rs 30.15 after the media reported that aviation watchdog DGCA has taken off the low cost air carrier from its enhanced surveillance regime.
The airline had been placed under enhanced surveillance due to concerns about inadequate maintenance and incidents during the previous monsoon season.

According to the media reports, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) conducted 51 spot checks on SpiceJet's Boeing 737 and Bombardier DHC Q-400 fleet across 11 locations in India. The findings from these checks were considered routine and not significant by the DGCA. SpiceJet took appropriate maintenance measures to address the findings, leading to its removal from the enhanced surveillance program.

SpiceJet is a low-budget air carrier. The airline operates a fleet of Boeing 737s, Q-400s & freighters and is the country's largest regional player operating 63 daily flights under UDAN or the Regional Connectivity Scheme. The airline also operates a dedicated air cargo service under the brand name SpiceXpress offering cargo connectivity across India and on international routes.

The company's consolidated net profit jumped 160.1% to Rs 110.48 crore on 2.7% increase in net sales to Rs 2263.41 crore in Q4 FY23 over Q4 FY22.
