HPL Electric gains on partnering with Wirepas for accelerating smart metering roll-outs
HPL Electric & Power added 2.21% to Rs 221.85 after the company announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Wirepas Oy, a global leader in RF mesh technology, to accelerate smart metering roll-outs in India.

Wirepas is a leading loT company with a mission to democratize enterprise IoT. It aims to make failure-free connectivity accessible to any enterprise of any size. It makes loT real through its connectivity software enabling massive decentralized, scalable, high-density, and long-range network applications. It serves customers across the world with offices in Australia, Germany, Finland, France, India and the United States, in the areas of smart tracking, smart building, smart manufacturing and smart metering.

The Indian smart metering market, with 250 million metering points, is on the cusp of exponential growth. HPL Electric and Power's recent announcement of smart meter orders valued under World Bank funding of Rs 416.84 crore in May 2023 underscores the immense potential of this market. The company has an order book exceeding Rs 2000 crore.

Meeting the demand for smart meters and ami solutions simultaneous roll-outs in the Indian market have created a demand peak for smart meters and AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) solutions.
