The Nifty October 2023 futures closed at 19,732.85, a premium of 1.10 points compared with the Nifty's closing 19,731.75 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 shed 19.30 points or 0.10% to settle at 19,731.75.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, rallied 5.03% to 11.15.

HDFC Bank, Federal Bank and Tata Motors were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The October 2023 F&O contracts will expire on 26 October 2023.
