Optiemus Infracom soars on foray in drone manufacturing sector
Optiemus Infracom spurted 7.81% to Rs 307.20 after the company said its board approved the launch of a new division for manufacturing drones.
The new division "Optiemus Unmanned Systems" (OUS) will make Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones). The company will be investing Rs 25 crore in the new division.

OUS will benefit from the manufacturing knowledge and skill of Optiemus Electronics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Optiemus Infracom, and utilize the marketing capabilities of Optiemus Infracom to enhance efficiency and expand its presence in the market. OUS aims to cater to domestic and international market.

OUS plans to expand its offerings in smarter payloads and enhance the autonomy of its products by developing unmanned vehicles for various terrains. OUS believes that its drones will have applications in multiple industries, including defence, healthcare, agriculture, logistics, mining, railways, and oil & gas. The possible areas of application for their drones include asset management, disaster management, delivery, mapping & survey, and precision agriculture.
