The Nifty December 2023 futures closed at 21,009.75, a premium of 103.35 points compared with the Nifty's closing 20,906.40 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 shed 90.70 points or 0.43% to 20,906.40.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, fell 0.35% to 12.71.

Dixon Technologies (India), HDFC Bank and ZEE Entertainment Enterprises were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The December 2023 F&O contracts will expire on 28 December 2023.
