The commercial production and dispatch of cement from the said plant was commence on 28 December 2023.
In September this year, the company had commenced commercial production of clinker at the Ametha Cement Plant.
"The Ametha Integrated Cement Plant has a clinker capacity of 3.3 MTPA and a cement capacity of 1 MTPA. This greenfield integrated project will help in lowest cost production of clinker and cement, which will enhance ACC’s overall portfolio to 37 MTPA and aid in the overall improvement in profitability and market share of the Company,” the cement maker had said in a statement.
In a separate exchange filing made on December 30, ACC informed that the company has received orders from Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, Bangalore. Karnataka levying penalty of Rs 10,000 and Assistant Commissioner, Central Tax & CGST, Purulia Division, West Bengal levying penalty of Rs 13,46,613, passed under section 73 of Central Goods and Services Act, 2017.
The aforementioned penalty has been levied due to alleged wrong availment of GST credit in Trans-1. The company stated that it is taking appropriate steps to appeal against the orders imposing the penalty before the appropriate authority.

The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 387.88 crore in Q2 FY24 as compared with a net loss of Rs 87.32 crore in Q2 FY23. Revenue from operations increased 11.22% year on year (YoY) to Rs 4,434.73 crore in the quarter ended 30 September 2023.
The scrip rose 0.74% to currently trade at Rs 2225.35 on the BSE.
