During the month of October 2024, Retail sector’s Marketcap increased 70.16% to Rs 677158.34 crore, compared to 40.14% rise in total listed marketcap to Rs 44970525.05 crore.

Sector’s share of total listed marketcap moved to 1.51% in October 2024 from 1.24% in September 2023 and 1.46% in September 2022.


In terms of price appreciation in the sector, there were 19 gainers and 37 losers in the month of Oct 2024. The gainers accounted for 26.39% of sector companies, losers accounted for 51.39% of sector companies, while 16% remained unchanged.

The top 3 gainers were Muller & Phipps (147.55% gain), Bizotic Commer. (64.47% gain) and Chandrima Mercan (42.40% gain).

The 3 losers at the bottom were Shanti Guru Inds (-27.08% fall), Avenue Super. (-22.92% fall) and Popular Vehicles (-20.58% fall).
