PAT surged 71.3%
On standalone basis

Quarter ended December 2024 compared with Quarter ended December 2023.

Net sales (including other operating income) of Patanjali Foods has increased 15.07% to Rs 9,103.13 crore.  Sales of Oils segment has gone up 22.52% to Rs 6,717.48 crore (accounting for 73.16% of total sales).  Sales of Food Products segment has gone down 18.45% to Rs 2,037.61 crore (accounting for 22.19% of total sales).  Sales of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment fell 31.13% to Rs 6.15 crore (accounting for 0.07% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales came down from Rs 79.49 crore to Rs 78.46 crore.  

Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has jumped 56.78% to Rs 506.47 crore.  PBIT of Oils segment rose 388.91% to Rs 326.18 crore (accounting for 64.40% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Food Products segment fell 45.05% to Rs 143.36 crore (accounting for 28.31% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment fell 56.63% to Rs -7.19 crore (accounting for -1.42% of total PBIT).  

PBIT margin of Oils segment rose from 1.22% to 4.86%.  PBIT margin of Food Products segment fell from 10.44% to 7.04%.  PBIT margin of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment fell from negative 51.40% to negative 116.90%.  Overall PBIT margin rose from 4.04% to 5.52%.  

Operating profit margin has jumped from 4.35% to 5.94%, leading to 57.13% rise in operating profit to Rs 540.60 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 60.86% to 59.58%.   Purchase of finished goods cost fell from 26.80% to 26.07%.   Employee cost increased from 1.05% to 1.43%.   Other expenses rose from 7.07% to 7.54%.   

Other income fell 12.77% to Rs 40.65 crore.  PBIDT rose 48.79% to Rs 581.25 crore.  Provision for interest fell 19.32% to Rs 20.29 crore.  

PBDT rose 53.48% to Rs 560.96 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 16.77% to Rs 69.71 crore.  

Profit before tax grew 60.65% to Rs 491.25 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 120.32 crore, compared to Rs 89.25 crore.  Effective tax rate was 24.49% compared to 29.19%.

Profit after tax rose 71.30% to Rs 370.93 crore.  

Promoters’ stake was 69.48% as of 31 December 2024 ,compared to 73.82% as of 31 December 2023 .  

For year-to-date (YTD) results analysis

Net sales (including other operating income) of Patanjali Foods has increased 3.96% to Rs 24,430.38 crore.  Sales of Oils segment has gone up 7.10% to Rs 17,987.01 crore (accounting for 72.71% of total sales).  Sales of Food Products segment has gone down 9.28% to Rs 6,294.82 crore (accounting for 25.45% of total sales).  Sales of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment fell 20.72% to Rs 34.83 crore (accounting for 0.14% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales rose Rs 277.78 crore to Rs 306.65 crore.  

Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has jumped 55.91% to Rs 1,302.71 crore.  PBIT of Oils reported profit of Rs 721.88 crore compared to loss of Rs 148.25 crore.  PBIT of Food Products segment fell 44.71% to Rs 542.17 crore (accounting for 41.62% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Wind Turbine Power Generation reported loss of Rs 5.44 crore compared to profit of Rs 3.18 crore.  

PBIT margin of Oils segment rose from negative 0.88% to 4.01%.  PBIT margin of Food Products segment fell from 14.13% to 8.61%.  PBIT margin of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment fell from 7.25% to 15.63%.  Overall PBIT margin rose from 3.51% to 5.27%.  

Operating profit margin has jumped from 3.86% to 5.71%, leading to 53.74% rise in operating profit to Rs 1,395.88 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 63.28% to 59.16%.   Purchase of finished goods cost rose from 24.78% to 26.31%.   Employee cost increased from 1.07% to 1.55%.   Other expenses rose from 7.05% to 7.47%.   

Other income up 0.34% to Rs 114.29 crore.  PBIDT rose 47.79% to Rs 1510.17 crore.  Provision for interest fell 19.76% to Rs 59.37 crore.  

PBDT rose 53.07% to Rs 1450.8 crore.  Provision for depreciation down 2.32% to Rs 183.12 crore.  Profit before tax grew 66.72% to Rs 1,267.68 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 324.87 crore, compared to Rs 201.54 crore.  Effective tax rate was 25.63% compared to 26.51%.Profit after tax rose 68.71% to Rs 942.81 crore.  

Promoters’ stake was 69.48% as of 31 December 2024 ,compared to 73.82% as of 31 December 2023 .  


Full year results analysis

Net sales (including other operating income) of Patanjali Foods has increased 0.62% to Rs 31,721.35 crore.  Sales of Oils segment has gone down 12.68% to Rs 22,383.79 crore (accounting for 69.77% of total sales).  Sales of Food Products segment has gone up 55.09% to Rs 9,643.32 crore (accounting for 30.06% of total sales).  Sales of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment rose 2.48% to Rs 54.56 crore (accounting for 0.17% of total sales).  Inter-segment sales came down from Rs 381.12 crore to Rs 360.32 crore.  

Profit before interest, tax and other unallocable items (PBIT) has slumped 7.08% to Rs 1,154.19 crore.  PBIT of Oils reported loss of Rs 76.49 crore compared to profit of Rs 119.80 crore.  PBIT of Food Products segment rose 11.23% to Rs 1,230.30 crore (accounting for 106.59% of total PBIT).  PBIT of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment fell 97.63% to Rs 0.39 crore (accounting for 0.03% of total PBIT).  

PBIT margin of Oils segment fell from 0.47% to 0.34%.  PBIT margin of Food Products segment fell from 17.79% to 12.76%.  PBIT margin of Wind Turbine Power Generation segment fell from 30.60% to 0.71%.  Overall PBIT margin fell from 3.89% to 3.60%.  

Operating profit margin has declined from 4.06% to 4.03%, leading to 0.16% decline in operating profit to Rs 1,278.54 crore.  Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) decreased from 78.83% to 60.52%.   Purchase of finished goods cost rose from 10.33% to 27.14%.   Employee cost increased from 0.87% to 1.12%.   Other expenses rose from 5.94% to 7.20%.   

Other income fell 19.05% to Rs 240.27 crore.  PBIDT fell 3.72% to Rs 1518.81 crore.  Provision for interest fell 20.49% to Rs 189.9 crore.  Loan funds declined from Rs 1,454.40 crore as of 31 March 2023 to Rs 1,048.73 crore as of 31 March 2024.  Inventories declined from Rs 4,069.98 crore as of 31 March 2023 to Rs 3,767.79 crore as of 31 March 2024.  Sundry debtors were lower at Rs 1,434.36 crore as of 31 March 2024 compared to Rs 1,597.64 crore as of 31 March 2023.  Cash and bank balance declined from Rs 1,140.52 crore as of 31 March 2023 to Rs 833.58 crore as of 31 March 2024.  Investments rose to Rs 1,041.12 crore as of 31 March 2024 from Rs 37.54 crore as of 31 March 2023 .  

PBDT fell 0.72% to Rs 1328.91 crore.  Provision for depreciation rose 68.41% to Rs 268.83 crore.  Fixed assets declined from Rs 3,662.63 crore as of 31 March 2023 to Rs 3,509.84 crore as of 31 March 2024.  Intangible assets declined from Rs 1,565.06 crore to Rs 1,554.40 crore.  

Profit before tax down 10.08% to Rs 1,060.08 crore.  Provision for tax was expense of Rs 294.93 crore, compared to Rs 292.52 crore.  Effective tax rate was 27.82% compared to 24.81%.

Profit after tax fell 13.68% to Rs 765.15 crore.  

Promoters’ stake was 73.77% as of 31 March 2024 ,compared to 80.82% as of 31 March 2023 .  

Cash flow from operating activities has turned positive Rs 1,746.25 crore for year ended March 2024 from negative Rs 339.34 crore for year ended March 2023.  Cash flow used in acquiring fixed assets during the year ended March 2024 stood at Rs 100.11 crore, compared to Rs 98.56 crore during the year ended March 2023.  

Other Highlights

The board approved the grant of 4,25,478 ESOPs under Employee Stock Option Plan 2023 to eligible employees of the Company.

The Company integrated the HPC business into its existing operations as of 1st November, 2024 upon receipt of all necessary approvals. Now, the Company is focused on driving synergies between the HPC division and its existing operations to ensure a smooth and efficient integration process.

The input costs for various raw materials such as Palm Oil, Wheat remained elevated.

The Company clocked Export Revenue of Rs 67.27 crore in Q3FY25 with exports to 29 countries.

The Company spent around 2.50% of its Q3 FY25 Revenue on advertising & sales promotions, the highest since the last 10 quarters.
