Gujarat State Petronet (GSPL) reported 31% increase in income from operations to Rs 350.18 crore for the quarter ended December 2017 compared to corresponding previous year period On segment basis gas transportation revenue were up 31% to Rs 346.19 crore while electricity revenues rose 49% to Rs 5.22 crore.
Operating margins fell 40 bps to 84.8% during quarter ended December 2017 as other expenses rose 270 bps to 12% as a percentage of adjusted net sales while employee benefit expenses decreased 230 bps to 3.1%.
Operating profit increased 31% to Rs 297.09 crore. Other income decreased 32% to Rs 12.06 crore leading to 26% increase in PBDIT to Rs 309.16 crore. Interest cost fell 67% to Rs 5.49 crore. Depreciation was down 5% to Rs 44.22 crore. As a result PBT was up 42% at Rs 259.45 crore. Considering 490 bps fall in effective rate of taxes to 30% GSPL reported a 53% increase in bottom-line to Rs 181.56 crore.
For 9MFY18 GSPL reported a 25% increase in income from operations to Rs 981.36 crore compared to corresponding previous year period. On segment basis gas transportation revenue rose 26% to Rs 952.42 crore while electricity revenues decreased 3% to Rs 32.14 crore.
Operating margins fell 30 bps to 87.5% leading to 25% increase in operating profit to Rs 858.6 crore. Other income decreased 7% to Rs 56.34 crore leading to 22% increase in PBDIT to Rs 914.94 crore. Interest cost fell 48% to Rs 25.1 crore. Depreciation was down 2% to Rs 131 crore. As a result PBT was up 34% at Rs 758.84 crore. Considering 210 bps fall in effective rate of taxes to 32.7% GSPL reported a 38% increase in bottom line to Rs 511.04 crore.
The scrip is currently trading at Rs 207.
