During the month of October 2022, Plantation & Plantation Products sector's Marketcap decreased -3.95% to Rs 90477.15 crore, compared to 2.8% rise in total listed marketcap to Rs 28080213.27 crore.

Sector's share of total listed marketcap moved to 0.32% in October 2022 from 0.34% in September 2022 and 0.35% in October 2021.



In terms of price appreciation in the sector, there were 14 gainers and 18 losers in the month of Oct 2022. The gainers accounted for 34.15% of sector companies, losers accounted for 43.90% of sector companies, while 9% remained unchanged.

The top 3 gainers were Tyroon Tea Co. (8.12% gain), James Warren Tea (6.71% gain) and Terai Tea Co (6.49% gain).

The 3 losers at the bottom were ApcotexIndustri (-13.19% fall), M M Rubber (-10.92% fall) and Indag Rubber (-7.56% fall).

During the month Tata Coffee Ltd, Tata Consumer Products Ltd, PeriaKaramalai Tea & Produce Company Ltd, Apcotex Industries Ltd and CCL Products (India) Ltd announced their results. Of these Tata Coffee Ltd, Tata Consumer Products Ltd, Apcotex Industries Ltd and CCL Products (India) Ltd reported rise in net profit attributable to shareholders. Companies like PeriaKaramalai Tea & Produce Company Ltd reported fall in net profit attributable to shareholders.



FIIs increased their shareholding in CCL Products (India) Ltd from 5.80% to 7.55%, Tata Coffee Ltd from 1.78% to 2.04%, Tata Consumer Products Ltd from 25.30% to 25.56% and Rossell India Ltd from 1.51% to 1.61%. FIIs reduced their shareholding in Mcleod Russel India Ltd from 2.21% to 2.12%, Apcotex Industries Ltd from 1.00% to 0.86%, Harrisons Malayalam Ltd from 0.41% to 0.14% and Jay Shree Tea & Industries Ltd from 5.27% to 4.93%.

DIIs increased their shareholding in Tata Consumer Products Ltd from 13.53% to 14.56% and Tata Coffee Ltd from 4.83% to 4.98%. DIIs reduced their shareholding in Apcotex Industries Ltd from 0.11% to 0.02%, PeriaKaramalai Tea & Produce Company Ltd from 9.33% to 9.21% and CCL Products (India) Ltd from 21.24% to 20.81%.

Promoters increased their shareholding in PeriaKaramalai Tea & Produce Company Ltd from 55.95% to 56.59%, NeelamalaiAgro Industries Ltd from 71.24% to 71.26%, Apcotex Industries Ltd from 58.20% to 58.22% and Pix Transmission Ltd from 61.78% to 61.80%. Promoters reduced their shareholding in GRP Ltd from 41.58% to 41.49% and Octavius Plantations Ltd from 70.69% to 70.58%.
